Shirin and Gerald, a stylish couple who currently reside in New York City, had to do a lot of planning to make their dream destination wedding in Thailand a reality. For the event, they chose The Racha, a boutique villa resort on an island twelve miles south of Phuket. Not only did the hotel offer a group rate, the couple and their 85 guests felt as though they had the whole place to themselves. To ensure the wedding was exactly as they envisioned, they sent photos and sketches of everything — from the dinner table canopies to the napkin folds — to their wedding planner ahead of time.I love these personalized buttons Shirin had for her bridesmaids and MOH. Erika blogged about similar buttons recently and I think they’re so fun!
Brian K. Crain Photography was on hand for the whole event, including the “Full Moon Party” welcome dinner. This beach buffet dished up grilled-to-order seafood while fire dancers provided the entertainment. After the wedding, guests were also treated to a poolside farewell New York-style brunch, complete with Eggs Benedict and mimosas.
The bride also participated in the growing trend of switching outfits for the reception. Her second dress was short so she and Gerald could do the salsa as their first dance. Too cute.
