Our Summer issue is about to hit stands — a week from today as a matter of fact! I especially love the photo shoot we did in New Orleans. It’s truly one of my favorite places, and the locals couldn’t have been nicer in helping us show off their city.I’ve been to New Orleans numerous times, but I still found my guidebook indispensable. The one I carried with me everywhere was Night + Day — New Orleans by Todd Price, part of the Cool Cities series by Pulse Guides. It breaks the city up into three categories — Cool, Hip and Classic — and tells you the must-dos, must-sees and must-eats for each category. Better yet, Pulse is donating $1 from each book sold to Katrina-relief programs. There are 18 books total in the series, including Barcelona, New York, Paris and Shanghai.
