I’m on my way to Costa Rica for our “learning-moon” feature, appearing in the upcoming Winter 09 issue. My lesson of choice — surfing. To kick things off with a bang, my first day there, I’m scheduled for a three-hour surf session at the Playa Prieta Beach Club. (I’m a watergirl, so I’m totally stoked!) After that, I can either keep taking lessons or head out on my own (they say there are breaks for everyone, from beginner to pro).

I’m staying at the Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica at Peninsula Papagayo (a seriously swank full-service resort), as well as the Harmony Hotel (a quaint B&B that boasts some of the best surf in the Nosara area). In between, I’m sure we won’t be able to resist trekking through the jungle, taking a canopy tour and, of course, dining on plates of ceviche by the sea. So stay tuned — I’ll be back next week with a full report on a learning-how-to-surf honeymoon, Costa Rica-style!
