Our featured wedding this week captures the essence of a laid-back destination wedding to a tee. New York couple, Lisa Palmerini and Tariq Messineo, chose the Windjammer Landing Villa Beach Resort in St. Lucia to host their big day after a recommendation from Tariq’s mother, who also happens to be a travel agent. Lisa didn’t want to stress over planning, so she was relieved to decide everything via email with the resort’s wedding coordinators. The result was a casual, barefoot beach ceremony with the natural beauty of St. Lucia serving as a backdrop. The reception was held at the resort’s sports dock, decorated with white tents and twinkle lights. To add an extra pop of color to the decor, hints of fuchsia were sprinkled throughout the ceremony and reception. The couple also took advantage of the island’s resources: the bridal bouquet was made with local tropical flowers, the dinner menu included fresh seafood and a West Indian-style buffet and dessert was made with native fruits like pineapple, guava and mango.I just adore the carefree vibe of this wedding! Lisa and Tariq both look so happy, relaxed and content to be among such beautiful surroundings — exactly how a destination wedding should be!
